A Day Early and A Dollar Ahead?!
Well, hello everybody!
I would like to say a special hi to the new readers in Saudi Arabia, thanks so much for taking an interest!
You know the saying "A day late and a dollar short"?, well I'm putting this up a full 24 hours early this week, so do you think the opposite is true? "A day early and a dollar ahead"? Wouldn't that be awesome!
The reason I am posting this a day early is because I won't be home until later tomorrow, and most likely will be fairly tired. So, if I wanted these ramblings to make any kind of sense at all, I thought this was the better option.
Yep, tonight I'm going to be meeting up with a couple of friends from high school, we're going to basically have a pajama party! Only this time in a nice hotel instead of our parents' basement! It's going to be a blast!
So, this past week.
I've been emailing back and forth with the puppet lady I told you about in last week's blog, and it's sounding great. She is tracking down materials as we speak, and then will put a Lexi puppet together for me to have a look. My idea is to then find someone who can sew the clothes for her from the story. I want to incorporate buttons and zippers and ties, so it helps little ones with accomplishing these milestones. Hopefully, we can keep the cost down so they can be really affordable for young families.
Also this week, I've been working on something musical to do with the kids on my trip to Prince Albert, Shoal Lake, and Red Earth on April 19-20. One idea I had was to do a simultaneous version of "itsy bitsy spider" and "Head and shoulders knees and toes." I tested it out with my daughter and baby sis, and it did work, well, it worked with two adults who knew the songs before hand, so we'll see. I'm trying to put together a couple of different things, as I'm not sure of how much time I will get with the kids, or what their level of interest might be in this sort of thing. I guess I only can get as prepared as I can and then wing it from there. Well, that strategy has served me well my whole adult life, why stop now?!
I would like to thank everyone who has contributed thus far to the "care package" I'm putting together for the kids in the residential school I told yo about in my ramblings a couple of weeks ago. It's going to be great! I plan on including a card, and putting all the different contributors on it, so these kids can see and know that people care, and that it's way more than just me.
Now for the upcoming week.
This week I will be contacting the Kindersley library and hopefully setting up a reading/signing date there. I also plan on setting something up at the Outlook elementary school. Maybe Dinsmore and Rosetown too.
Other than the above phone calls, my normal work week and continuing to try to come up with some sort of genius musical thingy for the northern schools, it should be a fairly mellow week. And maybe, just maybe, there won't be a snowstorm! It's possible!

Until next week!
May you hug the soul of a stranger with a kind smile, a friendly word and gesture that expects no return.
May your heart be touched deeply by unexpected beauty, and icicle prism, a child's laughter, someone dancing without concern.
May you feel the freedom of a child who knows not of earthquakes, radiation, elections, global warming, or war.
May you hold that freedom, so in spite of these adult things, you live, you laugh, you love, you share your soul and more.
May your week be filled with the bluest skies, the warmest smiles, and the happiest moments in the history of your days.
May your many talents shine so brightly, this week, that even you will be amazed!
