Same Sky...Different Day

Hi!

How is it that things seem to be changing at lightning speed and a snail's pace at the same time?

Soon we will be living life as close to normal as we've been able to do for over a year, but not soon enough.

Same sky, different day.

Some days are stormy, others serene. Neither can exist without the other, both, beautiful in their own way. Sometimes it's hard to tell them apart.

Sometimes, the day feels tumultuous, exhausting, heavy. Until that is, you wake up the next day and find out that that was just the warm-up for what the Universe had in store. A true, 'oh you thought that was bad, hold my beer" situation.

The opposite can also be true. You have a day when everything seems to be going ok. Things fall into place with minimal effort, fostering all kinds of gratitude. Then, you awaken the next day to have an even better, more positive. awesome time between the sunsets.

If we are lucky and haven't made an enemy of Karma, the serene outnumber, outweigh, outlast the tumultuous. We don't always notice them, because they are lighter, because they are less dramatic, because they whisper instead of scream, they don't scratch as deeply into our memory.

We have to make an effort to elevate the good days, the serene days, the peaceful days.

Celebrate.

Soon.

Soon we will be able to celebrate, together, in person, dancing, laughing, feasting on the hugs that are finally unfettered.

Soon.

I, for one, can't wait.

******************************************************************

There are so many places on this planet that have citizens, people, families, kids suffering far beyond what this past year has dished out. They suffer at the hands of undeserved conflict, having violence thrust upon them through no fault of their own.

As the powerful throw fire, the innocent are the ones being burned.

This is nothing new, just history repeating.

When will we learn? What will it take?

One group of people trying to oppress another group of people regardless of size or reasoning never works. It can't. Why? Because all conflict fuelled by a sense, any sense of superiority is founded in falsehood.

One group may have more firepower, more political power, more societal power, which feeds their delusion of superiority, but that doesn't make it real. The delusional continually try to force their fantasy, when they encounter resistance, they claim the conflict is the fault of the oppressed. This escalates. There are marches, there are movements, there are leaders forged in the fire. Sometimes, it escalates to the boiling point of violence.

When the smoke clears, inevitably, the chasm that divides the delusional from the oppressed shrinks just a little. The power shifts just a bit. We find that there are many more who believe we are all equal than don't. Progress, even if minute, is made.

Those who have the power will never share it easily, or willingly. They didn't seek permission to take it, they simply claimed it. They won't just relinquish it, why would they?

I think the greatest fear of any oppressor is that if power is transferred, or even shared,  they will be treated exactly the way they've treated others.

Until next time...

May we once again dance in the rain, together, celebrating without limits.
