Keep Your Cockles Toasty, And Don't Lick That!

Hi!

Frosted fireworks against winter's bluest skies.

Yes, it's so cold you don't dare blink too long for fear your eyes will freeze shut. Yes, when the wind becomes part of the dance, if you stand just right, taking actual steps becomes optional, as you will scoot right along without moving a muscle. Yes, spending any amount of time outdoors, right now, means pretty much putting on every piece of clothing you own... all at once. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but probably not as much of one as you're thinking at this very moment.

Yes it's cold, bloody cold. But.... it is also gorgeous, and it has other perks! When it's this cold, at times, the air seems to crystallize before your eyes, surrounding you with air that actually shimmers as the sun plays with it. When it's this cold, you feel like a survivor....every day. You begin feeling proud of yourself for tasks that, say, during summer, would not be that noteworthy. Like starting the car, for instance. Things like touching a shopping cart that has been sitting outside or walking .......anywhere.

Yep, it's cold. But, thankfully, we are in the home stretch of winter now. At the most, we are looking at 3 more months. Not bad. The days are slowly getting longer, as we now get 8 hours of daylight. Not bad. We had a pretty warm December so really winter kind of just started, so, if you think about it, it will be a much shorter winter than normal!

So, for the time being, we will continue to feel proud of doing simple things, continue to enjoy our diamond encrusted surroundings, and snuggle in front of fireplaces, sipping hot chocolate. We will spend time passing winter wisdom to our youth. This, inevitably followed closely by soothing their tortured tongues as they insist on licking the frost covered metal school bus window/playground equipment/coat zipper, It is a rite of passage for any Prairie kid, after all.

Anyway...............................

We are back in full swing at the shop. Sending trailers home with happy customers is an awesome way to spend your time!

I took my Friday-Writing Day and put it to pretty good use. I'm in the process of putting "Lexi's Magic Clothes" into ebook form. It will be available on kindle and kindle apps very soon! Once I have Lexi completed, I plan on doing my other books, as well.

It's pretty exciting! Again, learning something new, that I never would have had the opportunity to learn had I not taken the first steps of this crazy adventure.

You never know what you can do until you do it.

The new books are coming along pretty well. Fridays are fairly busy.

As for the upcoming few days..........

We will be busy at the shop...............

Going to sneak some time with my "bride to be" daughter and touch base about wedding plans.....

Sneak some grandbaby snuggles.................

Continue to get ducks in a row for income tax.....whoopi! With the shop, my books, and DJ/Karaoke, it gets a bit involved. But, that's why they invented accountants!

Well folks, that about does it for me, this time around........

Until next time I'll leave you with this wish.....................

May you always have a warm place to stay, a warm hand to hold, a warm heart to hold you dear.
May your cockles stay toasty, along with your fingers and toes, as frostbite is always a fear.

May your mittens stay dry, as well as your socks, for either getting wet is a drag.
May you get all the groceries over that snow bank, without breaking one single bag.

May your darkness surrounded, bathrobe attired, car starting trips at 40 below, go without a slip.
May you make it every time without disaster, without bruises or bumps, without a feet flying trip.

May you find fun, indoor ways to entertain yourself, for sometimes winter drags.
May you count the blessings, it'll be another 3 months, after all, before we have to shave our legs!

Until next week......
